Thanks to the estimated 1,000 patrons who came out to make the 3rd Annual Savor Providence, held on August 28, 2010, such a resounding success.

All the foodies -- and the area restaurants, who donated their time and services! -- raised over $9,000 to support Trinity Rep's educational programming, which reaches 60% of Rhode Island schools.

"We are so thrilled that this wonderful event has become firmly cemented as a Providence summer tradition," said Trinity Rep Artistic Director Curt Columbus. "To bring so many people together to celebrate food, theater education, and the vibrant city we call home is a truly special thing.

This year's event was bigger and better than ever, featuring an all-new cooking demo tent with local chefs Derek Wagner of Nick's on Broadway, Dave Jackson of 10 Steak and Sushi, and Rob Deluise of Hemenway's Dockside cooking for standing-room only crowds. Also new to this year, fans voted for the first ever Best of Savor Providence award, which went to Hemenway's by a landslide.
